Today is Transgender Day of Remembrance. Each year, the trans community loses too many lives, especially trans women of color, to hate and violence.

I love watching the Haka. It brings me joy and heartache. Joy in that such an amazing tradition survives. Heartache as a black American wondering what amazing traditions like this were stripped from us. But joy returns b/c I know what we've created since is copied around the world.

The thing that gets to me sometimes about these "low information voters" is that 96% of Americans have smartphones. The information is quite literally at their fingertips. How are they poorly informed? SMH.
