BBC election night coverage peaks at 13m viewers tonight

(Figure converted using TAM method)

That’s not true tbh

We’ve just gone backwards

Nothing changes… 🙄

The 14-Day rule prevented BBC from commenting on any issues currently debated in Parliament.

AND

The absurdity of a ban on election campaign coverage magnified by the launch of ITV

These impediments co-existed with strong reservations within the BBC about “limits of controversial broadcasting”

I posted some study notes this morning on thread below, from this post onwards

It’s helpful to understand the Representation of People Act and the 14 day rule AND this conference ..

A different world

Probation Officer and the Liberal Party Conference tied 😆

That said, a surge in Liberal votes in certain areas should not then come as such a surprise to the BBC tonight.. 🤷‍♀️

I’m not sure which functioning better but ITN/ARTV had clear scorecard presentation of DEUCE predictions

ELLA didn’t get much of a look in - as night wore on predictions given verbally ..

Whether that meant someone was now just doing the hard maths.. 🤷‍♀️

BBC prediction slightly closer to actual

I notice there’s a lot of regional variations tonight - particularly circa 5.30 to 7.30pm

Chiefly centred around which action/adventure series run and when - assume sorts itself out over course of the week

Also, when schedule bandstand..

ITV could simply reuse these titles

🤷‍♀️

Lucky you!!

Perhaps they’ve had a policy change

Caveat: I understand how a publication may still have “some”notable articles, interview or investigations they feel premium after a decade

Not this kind of stuff though

I used the freebie years ago, for research

Oh boy did the DT not stop hounding me with emails to subscribe..

I felt dirty 🤭😁

You’re misunderstanding my protest - I’ll try clarify again

It is stuck behind a paywall

Only free if not used the “one week offer” before

I firmly believe articles that old should not be used for material gain

Should be accessible to all as learning material - the articles are now paid for

You have an overly flattering view of the English electorate (taken as a whole)

I agree - so stop using paywalls on ten year old material Daily Telegraph..
