It's hard to read in Z scale. At some point we'll all need LGB 😆 But it's not so important whether it's 216 or 218. The only important thing is that the 216 can't drive push-pull trains with control cars. The 218 can.

The 216 is a little shorter than the 218, has different bogies and a different tank. This is difficult to see. The easiest way to see it is because the 216 has no exhaust pipes on the roof

DB replace all passenger train locomotives with multiple units. And then they rent them back at great expense from the railway companies if the new trains are delivered too late. Crazy? Yes
