We've also not paid for their education, but we're reaping the benefits from it.
Immigration is so good for the economy; the government should be putting the argument forward for increasing immigration, not going along with the false narrative.

Has he provided evidence to back his headline? Or is evidence no longer needed in this post-truth era?
November 27, 2025 at 9:07 AM
Surely it's important to contain his ethnicity in the headline? That seems the norm now.

Reactions to the cash ISA cut are merely hysteria. A tiny percentage of people will save over £12k a year in cash ISAs. On top of this they can currently hold around £22k outside of an ISA before they'd have to pay any tax on interest.

A real saving of around 3%, considering current inflation.

In the UK, around 11m people are retired, 11m people are too young to work and around 4m people can't work due to disability.
That's automatically over a third of the population that don't need to hold digital ID 🤷‍♂️

I remember thinking Jenrick was bad for painting over Mickey Mouse murals at child asylum units.

What Mahmood is announcing tonight is so much worse. This isn't the Labour party I know.

🤨 Global warming isn't bothered about imaginary border lines drawn up by humans.

By your logic someone in Britain should be allowed to use 20x more emissions than someone in China just because of their place of birth.
November 17, 2025 at 8:31 PM
At least they've got their horns to play with to keep them busy.
November 16, 2025 at 6:33 PM
The govt should be controlling the narrative; they should be defending immigration and showing people how important it is to the country (whilst reducing asylum backlogs).
Letting companies who make money from clicks determine the narrative was never going to play out for the good of the country.

China have recently opened the largest solar farm in the world - by a long way. They're taking action.
November 11, 2025 at 9:38 AM
Also because there are 1.4bn people in China.
When I was on Twitter, someone posted a similar graph arguing that was why we shouldn't install clean energy. I asked them to send me a link to the data and on the same page it had a pollution per capita graph - China was in the middle, just above UK.

What law does he suspect them of breaking?

The taxpayer also hasn't paid for migrants' education. Increasing immigration is a good thing, economically. It's a shame that some people can't see past their racism to understand it.

I can imagine the phone calls now:
"Have you mis-sold PPE in the past 5 years?"

Yes.

The government introduced a subsidy of up to £3,750 on EVs to make them more affordable.
Taxing the only the very wealthiest more won't cover the massive cost that driving private vehicles has to the government.
November 6, 2025 at 10:03 AM
That's fine, but the number of ICE vehicles will continue to fall and the tax gap will continue to widen. Introducing this tax now will mean tax revenues will rise as more people get EVs.
November 6, 2025 at 9:48 AM
I'd go further and say that paying the fixed cost as per the current process encourages people to drive more.
I can't help but think that if I had a car I'd be thinking "well I'm paying over £x each year for just having it, I might as well be getting every penny from it".
November 6, 2025 at 9:20 AM
How would you fill the tax gap caused by reduction on fuel duty/VAT on petrol/diesel as EVs replace ICE vehicles, if not though taxing per mile?
November 6, 2025 at 9:13 AM
How many people manage to max out their £20k cash ISA allowance each year, though?
In addition to the cash ISA, everyone gets £1k personal allowance for interest, so you'd have to hold approximately an additional £20k outside of an ISA before you're taxed on the interest.

If he was deported, he'd be able to offend again. He needs to be in prison.
October 24, 2025 at 5:22 PM
It seems like he's trying to sell the idea to the xenophobes, who no doubt think they would be brilliant if it only applied to people they didn't like. But any sniff of them having to show ID themselves puts them off immediately. He's playing a lose/lose strategy.
