Even to the most well meaning, progressive of adults who wish to be parents, you have to be aware of the power imbalance between you as adults and your children. I don't know how to navigate that dynamic completely, but I know remembering that they're their own persons first and foremost is crucial.

Oh yeah, I heard he later had to go to that guy's hometown and apologize. When you're dealing with actual history, especially tragedy, straddling the line between accuracy and telling a story can become perilous.

Oh yeah, I heard he later had to go to that guy's hometown and apologize. When you're dealing with actual history, especially tragedy, straddling the line between accuracy and telling a story can become perilous.

Culturally, they're like the 2nd largest film industry in terms of production, just behind Bollywood and ahead of Hollywood. In fact, Nollywood has received criticism from its neighbors for its oversized output shaping outside perception of the whole continent. The "Nigerianisation of Africa".

And given how Europe's acting, these are the "Vacuum" years where there's no true polar or bi polar nation states steadily dictating international socio-economic policy. It's why everything's a fucking mess. It's likely things will go back to just the US and China when both get over the crazies.

Honor Among Thieves is literally an adaptation of a campaign among a group of friends (I feel like they just had a campaign with the cast, and then just storyboarded & scripted it out after).
And the story is a simple action-comedy heist romp. The lore is simply the frosting to the cake they baked.

I know it's not 1:1 adaptation, but this is why DnD: Honor Among Thieves is perhaps so far the best film adaptation of a game. Because the goal isn't about adapting the lore or backstory of game to film, it's adapting the experience of playing said game vicariously through cinema. That's the goal!

I know Clint Eastwood did an Iwo Jima diptych with Flags of Our Fathers & Letters from Iwo Jima. Both I hear are good, though Letters is the more critically acclaimed of the two.

Hmm, the masses got pretty pissed at the decline of the traditional Western (for obvious reasons) and went seeking their "Cowboys vs Injuns", and "Explorers vs Savages" elsewhere.
(This is just me bullshitting, yet sci-fi and fantasy has been used as "safe spaces" for questionable content. 😬)
