I'm gonna be completely honest I had no idea a series like Civilization even needed a narrative director since the story is told by the player(s). I'm very curious as to what that entails and how you grapple with a position that's so malleable by the genre itself. I imagine it can't be easy.

I've been that guy, and relationships suffered because of it. It's a weirdly hard hole to dig out of, but I fortunately had very patient people willing to help me.
In hindsight I think video games like anything else can be an addiction.
