I will also add that Heated Rivalry itself has a very "ripped from the headlines" setup, so fair warning there. That said, the characters themselves are very distinct, so I didn't have too much trouble shaking that off.

The books are super quick reads, so that's a great place to start! They're definitely raunchy romance novels, so you should know that going in. Lol but the show is a very loyal adaptation, so if you like the book, you'll probably also enjoy the show. 😊

Anyway, long way to go, as ever, but long live the hockey gays, both fictional and real.

That said, it's been really heartening to see how joyous and warm the reception to it has been. Not within all parts of the hockey community, of course, but many. More than I was expecting, to be sure.

As a queer person and a hockey fan, it shouldn't be surprising that I love it, but I think it feels vulnerable to talk about a series where those two identities intersect despite having often been at odds throughout my own life.

I scrolled away out of self-preservation, but part of me definitely wonders. Lol

The fact that Sid is going salt and pepper in a such an attractive, distinguished way is so typical. Jerk.
