Growth in global oil demand slowed markedly in 2024

This was driven by lower consumption from global road transport, in part due to the rising impact of EVs

For first time in many years the @iea.org expects electricity demand per capita in advanced economies to start to rise - a reversal of the trend over the past 15 years.

Graphic is interesting also because it shows huge differences in electricity demand per person with US by far consuming the most.

The UK is the only country to have submitted a 1.5˚C compatible target.

I completely agree, Jan. The dynamics of the transition are still underestimated by many people in energy industry, science, and politics.

And my own experience of 30 yrs working in renewables confirms: The development always went faster than expected (with only a few setbacks).
