Yes that was from a decade ago. But point being UK estimates by daily fail are way off the mark (inflated) even only those cost numbers they claim (given UK economy size) plus those are the costs only, not the benefits which could outweigh costs

Very sad scaremongering. This article is a bit old now but worth noting globally cost of action vs inaction:

Costs for action on climate change by 2100: ~$11 trillion
Damages ~$8 trillion.
With inaction, damages: ~ $20 trillion.

By 2200, > $30 trillion if action taken, or > $70 if no action taken.
