Freddie trusted Pie enough to allow her to keep her healing leg from the gate fiasco low and bend underneath her to trim and shape it.

Taking into account Pie’s still healing back leg from her gate fiasco several weeks ago, Freddie told her to rest her hoof on the ground and he trimmed from there.

Within 5 mins, Pie settled down. Freddie sighed as he brought her over to the shed. K nodded and sighed too.

Freddie, a brilliant horseman with massive experience with thoroughbreds, volunteered to catch Pie, who started her “trim dodging…” K said “It’s a privilege to have you work with her!”

Pie is still dramatic with K. She peers around Surfer awaiting her trimming since she fled when K said she could go first if she wanted.

Freddie said Surfer is his favorite to do because of his height. He does not have to bend as much. Surfer adores trimming now. Go figure.

Pixie is very bottom line with Freddie and is in and out in 7 mins with particular attention paid to her front heels and slight club foot.

Hackleton and Freddie have such a good relationship that Hackleton falls asleep and snores during trimming. His back legs were supple and stretchy. No shivers problems.

When Pie is in season, focused and on task, she looks about 17 hands tall. She is no shrinking violet by far. K challenged her with quick changes and turns off the flag.

After initial shenanigans, Pie focused after K kept my alpha mare discipline, and put in a huge workout!

At the end of the day, K came for Pie. Pie’s in season and incredibly strong. K had to maintain my alpha mare behavior that I taught her as she watched me command my mares at pasture, to focus Pie on her workout goal.
