My experience with a Youth Organization's Communications team has been deeply disappointing and hurtful. The way it has been treated and perceived has led to feelings of degradation, insult, and humiliation.

It is clear to me that Communications is not a priority. Which is why they often appear to be neglected and mismanaged. The current state of the Communications reflects this lack of importance, resulting in a dysfunctional and disrespected environment.

Disrespect from a PWD colleague, especially one with bipolar and part of a minority group, is tough. You deserve respect, regardless of her status. Stay calm, document incidents, and seek support. Everyone deserves dignity at work.

There is a troubling rise in calls for SciComms, but many organizations misuse these roles.

Dehumanized. Disrespected. Despite 10+ years in SciComm, I see no change. People dismiss us as not "science enough," yet we are the backbone. Perpetuating a culture of exploitation?

Demand respect now.

INGOs — and the whole nonprofit sector — have been targeted by a raft of vague but threatening pronouncements from the White House. It’s creating a culture of fear, which has driven some into silence, but pushed others into the beginnings of a fightback.
NGOs say they’re under attack from Trump — and are ready to fight back

Personal stories from farmers, women, youth, and community leaders create emotional connections that motivate action. I am committed to amplifying these voices through various media.

Training community volunteers on media skills empowers them to be active change agents. Their local knowledge and trustworthiness are invaluable assets. I’m encouraged by their enthusiasm and commitment. I see this as a sustainable approach to scaling communication efforts.

Reflecting on my progress, I feel more confident in French, Portuguese, and Spanish. My vocabulary has expanded, pronunciation improved, and cultural understanding deepened. Balancing work in Filipino and Hiligaynon translation has strengthened my grasp of linguistic nuances.

The journey isn’t just about writing. It’s about learning every aspect ~ cover design, formatting, marketing, and more. It’s exciting and a little overwhelming, but I’m committed. The best part? Every author’s path is unique, and I’m ready to see where this road leads.

Editing is where the magic happens. I initially thought I could do it all myself, but I soon learned the value of a professional editor. Fresh eyes catch mistakes I missed and help improve the flow.

That said, I might need an editor.

Revisions can feel daunting, but they’re essential. I’ve learned to approach them with patience and an open mind. Sometimes, I need to let the manuscript sit before revising with fresh eyes. Beta readers help identify blind spots. Even published authors revise multiple times.

I gotta say, this is no longer appearing as the bookstagram I wanted. 📚 That being said, I still want to post everything about books, the book community, and that kind of author. ✍ But I guess, I can post non-book-related stuff, maybe? 👋

After months of bothering MS Support, today I saw that my laptop received the update to enroll in Extended Security Updates (ESU) for free. Just a week before they stop the support to Windows 10.

Poet Kahlil Gibran has consistently synthesized his works with philosophical or, rather, spiritual themes ~ making them timeless classics.

Collectively, his works underscore human nuances, existential purpose, and the divine.

How many languages do you need to speak to be a polyglot? Does it have to be foreign languages or can you add your own native tongue?

Have certificates for French, E. Portuguese, and Spanish, so...

Children’s literature often tackles big themes, you know ~ fear, bravery, kindness, when a parent is 🙏 , or 🍇 Sometimes better than adult books. Kids’ stories ARE profound.

And they say writing children's books is easy 😩 No, it's not.

My weekend readings: Reading across eras with a large gap of language evolution.
From Old English to slang-filled modern prose.

And, it helps me relax 😜 😀 😆
