The group recently visited Kenfig Nature Reserve in the South Wales sand dunes. Our number one target species was the nationally scarce Fen Orchid.
Armed with a What 3 Words destination, supplied by the reserve warden, we were guided to one particular Fen Orchid. A brief search led to four others.

We had a good turn out to RSPB Highnam woods last night. 31 people heard one Nightingale in full voice. Only two have been reported this year where there was once 25 pairs.
Sad but delightful at the same time.
