I think he was being quite sly there tho (and I said it at the time) - he was getting his excuses in early and putting the blame on the recruitment.
He knows as well as anyone that that kind of player for a lower half (and esp newly promoted) team is like rocking horse shit

This is spot on for me. The Southgate comparison is fair.
I also think our recruitment is fine (as in not great, ok) but is an easy excuse because it's very limited as a newly promoted team with a poor FFP posituon

Yeah can't keep sticking to exactly the same formula every week with the predictable wait until the 70th min for any plot twists 😬😂

Can only speak for myself but I have been on the fence for a few weeks. Now I've had enough, can't keep having zero tactics.

No interest in playing good football for me.
We need to be solid, use our big lads and counterattack.

I'm with you it's fine. We improved the squad. Added a lot of experience. It's a squad a manager should be able to get a tune out of even tho it's tough as a promoted side.

Absolutely 💯
As I've just said elsewhere our recruitment for where we are at is ok. Not great, not terrible.
We need a manager that can use what we have.

Also recruitment doesn't prevent him from ever changing tactics or making subs before the 70m
Things every other PL manager does

Our recruitment was fine. Not excellent, not terrible but ok for a team that's going to be fighting relegation.
Farke is incapable of getting the best out of what we have.

Harsh reality of the PL
I've been less critical of Farke than many. His cautious nature and calming influence was very important (and underrated) in the champo.
But he's so tactically limited and inflexible which is a major issue at this level

Better to start with four losses but have a month to coach the team out of passing sideways.

He has no tactical awareness/flexibility
I think he served a very good purpose with his calming influence in the champo but he can't adapt and doesn't ever react in game

Not one of the players coming off seemed to be injured either 🤷🏼♂️

Le Bris is very pragmatic. I like how adaptable he is.

Yeah good manager
Don't think he's getting the credit he deserves as people would rather talk about signings

The two are totally different things. Weird comparison.
Imagine a Bielsa team having 35% possession and two shots on target.
(Not to say Le Bris isn't an excellent coach but he's very pragmatic which is the polar opposite of Bielsa)

I don't see him as a negative manager. Overcautious, yes.
I think his biggest fault this season is trying to play his usual football against teams like Arsenal and Brighton.
Look at Sunderland, Le Bris can play very negative football at times, low possession low chances and get points like today

He's just saying we need 40pts and it doesn't matter how you get them

DF: "Gameday 11 and it's the seventh time I am asked if it's must-win. Every game is an opportunity for a newly-promoted team. No game can be must-win for a newly-promoted team. We need nine wins or one point per game this season." #lufc

He never said he was focussed on getting one point per game. He said it's not a matter of certain games being "must win" you just need to find a way to win 10 games *or* get one point per game
