Love all things TTRPG & boardgame. Husband. Father. He/Him
I'm entirely uninterested and uninspired by them. I'm very pumped for Lorwyn, Strixhaven, and Hobbit. The rest....... meh, a chance to save money

Plus money exists to be spent. By not buying the Cthrion Edition, you would be preventing money from fulfilling its purpose. Could you really live with that?

So I think I agree with your assessment.
Im not trying to disparage SD. I like it, but it scratches a very different itch

Aragorn was my immediate reaction to the prompt and that felt important. There are a lot of incredible positive male role models out there though.

I really felt it simplified things.

Will the campaign book be split so the encounters are in their own book? I love the way Delian Tomb was structured. It was VERY director friendly.
I'm hoping to see a players guide/primer as well.

This book starts with "Story So Far/Kicking Things Off" blurbs which I love. I'd probably follow with a summary

The only thing I'd have liked near the front is a brief description or graphic showing the adventure path. This is more a me thing than something it lacks

It really holds you hand on getting stuff up and running. Gives you bits to read, references maps and where to look for encounter stuff.
It is really streamlined.

It makes it really clear how to run encounters, montages, and negotiations.
As a chronic overpreparer, I love this

You have the encounter booklet which lays out the map and positions, stat blocks per encounter, tactics, objectives, how to adjust by party size, etc. It really covers the bases
