One of my favourites on here disappeared recently. Their whole account here just vanished.

Which has me thinking about some of the others that have disappeared in the last few months.

Where do they go? Do they just erase their online presence? Or do they go back to the other place?

Mystifying.

With all the Metro Tunnel opening hype yesterday, I never got to have a decent look at Arden Station.

Ironically as it was the first station to be complete, but hey, I made it quite clear to myself, I wasn't going to look at any of these stations until they were in service, so today, I am at Arden.

Don't stress, Pauline. Victoria doesn't want you anyway.

Still big crowds at Footscray waiting to get their turn to ride into the Metro Tunnel

More Metro Tunnel goodness, the new Town Hall Station is very big and well suited to large crowds.

I might not be sold on the mimes, but the stations themselves are quite impressive, even if Town Hall isn't yet fully complete.

I caught the first train through the Melbourne Metro Tunnel today.

Massive crowds of very excited rail fans, train nerds & infrastructure geeks, mixed in with police, politicians, media & rail staff, all making history together.

This tells me 1 unavoidable, irrefutable truth:

Trains are good.

I am again calling for a crew of highly skilled marksmen to be jointly employed by Metro Trains Melbourne and V/Line

These new fangled passenger displays are pretty nifty.

Except we are on a Craigieburn train.

Melbourne's new Parkville station is partially open for viewing. Trains start running from this Sunday.

In short, it's very impressive.

Anyone out there that thinks driverless cars are the future are being duped.

These things will not solve traffic issues. They will only make it worse.

The only way to do that is a mix of improved public transport (trains, trams & buses) & active transport (walk or cycle).

Anything else is a con.
Waymo privatized another public street:

Chanel approaching 4th, San Francisco

Possibly queued for a Billie Eilish show at Chase Center ~half mile away.

The light rail train on 4th seen passing in front of this roboherd has more passenger capacity than all of them combined.

Says a lot.

We were all lied to as children.

Or otherwise, the insane asylum inmate that passes for the US President these days' pants would have spontaneously caught fire so many damn times.

I only need to see it happen once, and I'd be somewhat satisfied.

Define the US government in 2025:

Grifters and sex pests all the way down.

Look, it has to happen at some point in time, so why not now?
November 13, 2025 at 10:54 PM
Every federal government since John Howard's is equally guilty of letting this happen.

The tax money that has been lost, the debt we owe as a nation, the lack of public services that could have been, all so a very small number of people can make billions of dollars off our resources.

What a sham.
Australia Institute research shows the gas industry pays ZERO royalties on more than half the gas exported from Australia.

"Other people in the rest of the world are making a fortune out of Australia's gas exports.... Australia is getting taken for a ride."
