Today, I had the grace to visit the grave of Servant of God Auguste “Nonco” Pelafigue in Arnaudville, Louisiana.

Nonco was a teacher, catechist, and tireless missionary who gave his whole life to spreading devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

This afternoon I visited St. Edward Catholic Church in Richard, Louisiana, where Servant of God Charlene Richard—“the little Cajun saint”—is buried.

She was only 12 when she died of leukemia in 1959, but her faith and prayer in suffering continue to inspire.
