I also read A Christmas Carol every year. I'm not really a fan of Dickens' other books, but the 'poetry' of language in his descriptions of Christmas is unsurpassed.

Another excellent series. Like Blue Bloods it's on Sky Witness. My TV provider is Virgin Media so I have a large choice of channels. However, we don't get Channel 5 here.

I loved Blue Bloods. I wonder will the spinoff - Boston Blue with Danny as the main character - get shown on channel this side of the Atlantic. Blue Bloods was on Sky Witness I think.

Thank you. I love that mirror too. It's old, though I don't know how old. The fireplaces are original to the house - which is at least 120/130 years old.

I don't have a cat myself, but friends of mine do. I think they'd feel your pain! It's also a fact that what's the absolute bees knees this week will become 'you don't think I'll eat THAT?!' next week 🙄

I really liked the tv series too - even with move from Copenhagen to Edinburgh. The stories are not exactly for the faint hearted. They're quite visceral at times!

I don't have ads on Netflix. I don't see many ads of any kind as I record nearly everything I watch & can fast forward through the ads. BBC is great - no ads at all. 😁
