Only here for news and updates that I used to get elsewhere..
Haha, yeah, if they won the celtic (with the k sound) tiger would have become a whole streak of tigers!

Feel free to DM at the time if you're struggle to source tickets and I'd be happy to help if I can.

😂 be careful what you wish for, we have form..

As for tickets, it can vary wildly depending on the teams involved and the venue but for the most part, bar the really big games, you should be able to pick a couple up online handily enough.. Again, I'm sure #speirgorm can steer you in the right direction closer to the time

I think your best bet is to let
#speirgorm know when you're coming (Although I get if you don't want all of Ireland knowing exact dates! 😂) and someone will steer you towards a game. During the summer there will always be a game on in every corner of the country - some better than others of course

(The character limit is really hampering my love of talking GAA)

Further to the above, the GAA have college competitions as well but they wouldn't attract anything near like the attention/crowds yer college games would

Yeah I think that would be a fair comparison alright.
Main difference as I see it would be yer college players are trying to put themselves in the shop window in the hopes of going pro at the elite level whereas GAA players are still amateur at the elite level.

No, modern county players get mileage expenses for travel to and from training/matches and have access to gyms, nutrition, physio, etc but all will either be a student or have a full time job elsewhere.

The seasons for Football & Hurling (or Camogie) run simultaneously and at the elite, "County", level the dual player is almost extinct.
At "Club", and at underage, a lot but not all, play both.
All players, at every level, are amateurs and anyone who plays "County" will also play "Club"

The 4 (I neglected rounders in my original comment) sports have been under the same umbrella since the GAA's foundation in 1884. I'm sure someone more learned than myself can elaborate as to why that was the case but I'd guess it was a way of having autonomy over rish sports while under British rule

Hi David, long time follower, first time commenter.. The GAA encompasses Gaelic Football, Hurling and Handball.
I think the best way to capture the essence of it and demonstrate the passion involved is a highlight reel of this year's hurling final:
