To the people in power, anyone not a patriarchal white christian is trying to turn America into a 3rd world country with their inferior stock. Should they have to depend on the white supremacist police for protection? What is your solution to this problem? America isn't Australia or Europe.

I wasn't born left. I grew up libertarian. I have been immersed in American gun culture since i was 12 and have been to most states in the country. Just calling something i know more than you about ridiculous doesn't inspire any confidence that you're right. America is America, i know America.

Good luck, but i won't vote for it, and i'm 100% confident most other people won't either. We can't afford to make unnecessary enemies.

Sherriffs are elected officials above the police. I don't see that happening ever. Also, the people who elected them would probably just elect an even more radical sheriff in response.

You might be right, but thats not what's going to defeat them. They want violence so they can declare martial law and suspend elections.

That's not what guns are for. They're for organized community defense against gangs and militias and for hunting during food shortages. We have to defeat ICE through politics. We aren't going to beat the government with rifles. Besides, i want them to have due process when we send them to trial.

Yes, but also, those are the people who will not be disarmed in America. Rural Sherrifs will never disarm their people. If the law mattered equally; i'd be all for more gun control, but fascists don't enforce the law. They enforce hegemony.

WTF? I literally said i support universal background checks AND red flag laws... Also, fascist minorities? Fascism is driven by the hegemon, minorities by definition, lack the power to drive fascism. They can only ever be Tokens. You're tilting at windmills.

Would you risk Australia becoming a full-on authoritarian fascist hellscape by alienating the voters you need to save democracy? I know that any gun laws will simply not be enforced by white rural sheriffs. Only city people (and mostly minorities) will be affected. You clearly don't know America.

I'm not 100% sure what you're saying, but I'll try my best. When the people who enforce your laws are bigoted, the law becomes just an extension of their bigotry. Ever notice that rich people never go to prison unless they draw too much attention? Power and privilege beat justice 99% of the time.

This is in Austrailia, which has strict gun control. I'm fine with red flag laws and universal background checks, but any strict gun laws will only be used to target and disarm minorities in America. Also, if Democrats flanked Republicans on 2a, they'd have the madate of heaven for the next century.

Surgery requires a surgeon. I'm just an asshole on the internet who'd probably just make things worse. I believe that if conditions continue, the way they have been. Most people eyes will be open soon. Violence jist puts just that at risk. That's why they've been pushing people. They want violence.

The real fight is in opening eyes. Once enough eyes are open, victory becomes inevitable. Violence just creates backlash that mostly harms the underprivileged. Powerful people want us to fight because they know they can just hide away in their bunkers.

I'm more interested in justice than punishment, but if I become convinced that isn't possible, i may decide to settle. For now, I think i'm more likely to build a better world peacefully. I admit i could be naive, though. These politicians are truly evil, but you don't fight evil with evil.

I'm not advocating accelerationism. I'm warning about what people will logically think as our broken systems fail them.

I am this person, too. I only shop at 2 places, Costco and WinCo. Almost everything i buy is Kirkland or WinCo branded. Wierd how I've saved so much money switching to places that take care of their employees, one of the reasons I know most CEO's are full of it.
