Magic on Relarc, or at least magical energy, is drawn from the Divide, a realm dividing the physical from the spiritual (for the lack of a better term). Beings do live in this realm. The gods and their servants. Then there are the creatures the Divide is protecting from the physical realm.

When the dragons went to war with one another, they did not consider the mortal lives they'd affect. The final battle of the war scarred the lands, forever creating the Dragonwastes. The Hyforge Empire was broken from this, and with its remaining might, it chose revenge. Dragons are a rare sight now

Gnomes are almost everywhere in Relarc. Every city has a gnome district. They are almost always a welcome addition to any growing population center. They are handy, knowledgeable, and overall pleasant to deal with.

To the surprise of no one Kraven the Hunter was bad

The Year of Strife put Triholme on the map. Overcoming the Year, let it stay on the map. Fighting back the mountain clans, a druidic circle, a beast of endless hunger, and lich proved the strength of the human spirit. Or, at least the strength of being too dumb to quit in the face of all reason.

No one remembers what the cities were called before they were called Malice. They all know the story, however. After the Kur'mok Empire, 3 cities sought to connect themselves through magic. They succeeded for a moment before vanishing from the physical realm. When they returned, they were Malice.

The Ros (elves) are not native to Relarc. They traveled there from their homeland of Aeros to discover the cause of magical disruptions. An expeditionary fleet was sent. They broke into 3 groups. One went south and made Beros. One went north and founded Neros. The third vanished in the west.

Other stuff

Triholme is a city of many wonders. Its first one is that it's somehow still standing. In the early days, it was threatened by orcs, druids, beasts of insatiable hunger, and the undead. The undead remains as some of its citizens to this day, but now its biggest issue is crumbling infrastructure.
