Then this continues to be a Republican-owned shutdown. In my view, Dems should say Trump is relentlessly breaking the law, Republicans in Congress and on SCOTUS refuse to hold him accountable and we (Dems) can receive no guarantees that Trump will follow any deal we make. So it’s on them.

In the long term, the only path forward in cleaning up this mess requires nuking the filibuster. So I see that as a net benefit.

The SCOTUS majority is not agree of Trump. They like and agree with what Trump is doing (even if a couple would prefer Trump were genteel or discrete about it)
