Any fans of Fire & Ice? It's worth watching for the visuals alone. Can't go wrong with Frank Frazetta and rotoscoping. Sword and sorcery is a tough genre to produce as a film without an endless budget, but there were some valiant attempts in the 80's.

Michael Whelan recently turned 75. To celebrate, here's one of my favorite of his paintings, King of the Dead. You might know it as the cover for Michael Moorcock's The Bane of the Black Sword, one of his Elric books. This is exactly the kind of vibe we love here at Goblins & Galaxies.
