I interviewed him for a jazz profile I did in 1977 for jazz station KSDS. Was planning to do the interview at a club he was playing at. I was only 20 years old and the club would not let me in to do the interview. Roy was kind enough to do the interview in my car. Never forgot his kindness RIP
