As a genre movie, I'm much more impressed with them getting the vibes of the lore correct than having Jen Erso make sense as a character. A+ 5/5!

Rogue One made Vader a villain again. It also is the prequel that vibes most with how you'd expect Jedi and the force to be treated if the original trilogy was all you had to go by. That's enough to elevate it for me, no matter how obviously messy and stitched together the film obviously is.

To give the younger people some credit, the Clone Wars show does a lot of heavy lifting to elevate the prequel era of star wars into nostalgia. As an old man though, I hate the prequels with a passion and hope Andor and Rogue One recalibrate everyone's ideas of how things should have went.

Really hard to enforce policy when you aren't paying people. They got about 3 weeks before they really see just how far IOUs can pay for loyalty.

The air traffic academy instructors are almost all contract and all retired military/FAA controllers. Those guys are laid off during a shutdown and after a long shutdown they don't always comeback. So academy reopens but at usually half the capacity until they can get new bodies.

This is one thing I've never tried. I don't consider soaking beans and necessity but I do think it makes consistency harder. Your cook time changes (which changes the amount of liquid) and the beans seem to not cook evenly. Brining thing has been something I've been meaning to try for a while though

The upside is that the epstein stuff is wholly memeified and mainstream media is inconsequential on it. You cant talk everyone out of "Epstein didn't kill himself." They can say all they want about the smear and attacks, but they aren't getting past what's already in the zeigeist about the subject

There's lots of overlaps. Antisemitism mixes with hatred of Hollywood and elites. The homophobes and antichoicers get a renewed moral crusade. The crazy thing is that the Q stuff just happened to get out in front of the Trump-epstein connection before the mainstream media knew to start asking ?'s.
