i feel like I'm slowly becoming that but for Gen 3, yeah
i DID start with original red, but emerald was the one I put the most time into, & I still genuinely believe that there are plenty of aspects that it did better than every game after

i remember it had a neat lil feature where if you played it on the gameboy player, the controller would rumble whenever appropriate

I'm a firm believer that Metroid: Zero Mission is the best remake of any game ever made

I think the neck thing gives them the passive ability to survive the guillotine and pop their head out like an accordion

the treasury stage is one of my faves in the series

i always played that version of SMW just so that i could have the different luigi sprites

the sega virtua stick is so nice. I still use an adaptor for mine- much prefer the L button placement to the way sticks are usually laid out
