I assume this benefited him in some way to elect FA and then sign a deal rather than just accepting the Triple-A assignment?

Why are Rs so much better at gumming things up??? A big part of feeling the "do something" anger, at least to me, is based in "Well, THEY would fuck this whole thing up so why can't we?!"
