Like most schools, the U. is unaware of what’s driving the decisions. Most of the students affected don't have criminal records, and there doesn’t appear to be any direct cause. Some of the letters list the reason as “otherwise failing to maintain status.”
17 University of Utah international students see visas revoked by Trump admin
At least 17 international students and recent graduates at the University of Utah have had their visas revoked — receiving letters from President Donald Trump’s administration instructing them to immediately “self-deport.”

This is so important! Many people are unaware of the massive impact IMLS funding has, especially for museums and libraries in low income and rural areas. Most libraries are the only FREE place that communities are able to gather, learn, play, and access resources.
Like many others I am dismayed by the effort to end IMLS. I know IMLS matters to so many people. I put together the following site to collect and share stories of how "IMLS matters" to people. Please consider submitting a story.

So honored that my first article, Adaptive data governance for research data management, has been published in IASSIST quarterly! My background in corporate data governance was incredibly influential on my work as a data librarian and I encourage folks to check it out :)
The first issue of IASSIST Quarterly for 2025 presents three papers which review services offered by data librarians or issues important to them, and identify opportunities to incorporate innovative approaches to enhance those services for users and researchers. iassistdata.org/blog/2025/03...
Editors’ notes: Reflecting on past practice and research to innovate
