Climbed into bed to find the cat had already burrowed under the duvet and prewarmed the feet zone. This is bliss ☺️

Game music holds a large space in my heart. It both sets the tone for the scene and enhances the emotional landscape. It's likely to loop several times, possibly for hours over the course of the title. It sinks into you. Listening to it later takes me back to where I was in the game and in life. 🧵

To all you Japanese learners out there, check out YomiNinja. This tool is incredible. Reads your screen contents and gives an overlay with the text in a copy-able, dictionary lookup-able form. Even has built-in translate. It's a godsend.

There was a Raiden 2 cab at the bowling alley when I was a kid and you don't know how many quarters I dumped into it just to feel the overwhelming power of the maxed purple laser. Screenshots don't do it justice. The way it snakes around the screen and destroys everything is unspeakably satisfying.

"Where do you see yourself in 5 years?" has been an impossible question for my entire adult life because 3 or 4 times a year I stop caring about everything and can't even see myself in 5 weeks. And the rest of the time I'm fixing the problems created by that depressed period.

I'd like to read the Dune books. I'd like to read the rest of the Brandon Sanderson books I picked up. I'd like to read The Grapes of Wrath.

But what if I got high and played 6 to 12 hours of Factorio every day for a couple months instead?

As a kid I loved Mega Man Legends and I learned about The Misadventures of Tron Bonne from a GameFAQs guide. I have never seen even a screenshot of the game. My whole mental image is bulleted lists and step-by-step instructions. By the time I saved up to buy it, it was off shelves.

Video essays have corrupted my ability to hold a conversation. Two sentences in and my partner replies and I get a little miffed like, hey dude, I was gonna get to that in about 20 minutes.

Next 38 parts did not work. The steep climb in anxiety as I wonder if my testing machine broke and I'm going to have to redo everything.

I did not. The box was poorly labeled.

One of the weirdest things about working at a casino is that the playlist is 95% American Top 40 songs from the last couple decades, and then out of nowhere comes 2 Unlimited.

To be honest, I was, actually, not ready for this.

No matter how many solar panels I ship in, the power fails at night. The cloud cover is just too dense. My crops spoil on the bus before daybreak revives the machinery. How do you get power on this planet?!

I finally made it to my first planet in Factorio Space Age, Gleeba, and let it be known: ...I hate it here.

I was gonna build up from zero for the challenge but the first time a stomper destroyed my entire production line I ordered a rocket launcher from the home base.

I found a site that lets you make Factorio blueprints that are importable into the real game. Now I can dissociate into Factorio anywhere anytime!
