No, no, no! See, that’s what nearly every other country on the planet does, and therefore we can’t have that, because we have to be exceptional.

We should arrange some sort of duress signal with him. “Governor, if you are not acting of your own free will, please use the phrase ‘addlepated crybaby,’ and blink out ‘ORANGE’ in Morse code during your next press conference.”

Reverend, from an avowed atheist:

If more Christians were like you, I may never have left. I have respect for those who genuinely and with nothing but kindness to all, walk the walk. May the good work continue, sir.

Yeah - unfortunately, I’m getting that impression, too. Fucking shameful. And shameless.

I’ve been asking over and over. Not that I expect an answer, but good lord, the guy’s the governor. Either he’s ignorant of his state cops (unlikely), or he’s complicit.

Someone needs to forward a copy of the article to the Pope and see what his reaction is to this insane, obscene hair splitting.
November 15, 2025 at 5:20 PM
And again, @govpritzker.illinois.gov, are you planning to do one goddamned thing about your state police thugs involved in this? Anything? Anything at all?

And they’re trying to do it without having to use Chekov’s Files.

I thought Rollins might’ve still had some sliver of humanity left when she admitted that the government failed SNAP recipients, but that lasted all of five seconds.

Apparently 1% still want to wait and see how his policies shake out.

I’m interpreting this as less an argument to abandon moral guiderails, but rather to - for the present moment, at least - restructure them to allow for fighting dirty without guilt if we want to effectively confront the right.

It’s thugspeak for fast, nonstop, and likely increasingly violent.

I wouldn’t be able to contain my smile and laughter.
November 13, 2025 at 8:22 PM
He’s not. His staff likely is, but he’d sleep through any meetings anyway.
November 13, 2025 at 8:21 PM
I look forward to seeing him behind bars, preferably in the Florence ADX supermax.

fibrillation is a giant risk factor for strokes in the first place (I don’t know if this is what led to his stroke), or 2) it actually was an episode of ventricular fibrillation (lethal if not immediately treated), and he already has an implanted defibrillator that shocked him out of it.
November 13, 2025 at 7:23 PM
Also, the wording “ventricular fibrillation flare-up” makes me suspect that 1) they actually meant atrial fibrillation, which is not lethal in itself, but can lead to dizziness if it occurs suddenly, and would be consistent with his stroke history, since uncontrolled or unrecognized atrial

This is something that’s potentially treatable with either medication and/or an implanted defibrillator, and should not directly affect his ability to hold the office, absent other factors.
