I remember seeing video from the day Pretti was killed and seeing like 50 ICE/BP guys bunched up in a two lane street. Most of them had rifles but they were so tight together that the majority probably couldn't get their gun up if needed. They're lucky no one wanted to start taking shots at them.

"Need to know," is not widely understood. I had a TS and literally stepped foot in a SCIF twice in 6 years.

I've been using this to get the point across, but yeah, play through the whistle, hit them until they stop moving, no mercy rule.

Reminds me of the police convention scene in Fear and Loathing. Definitely an American type of "guy." Thompson and Steadman captured them perfectly.

All of these dudes need to be bullied into oblivion.

I have a colleague in Christchurch and we were talking about the state of the US recently and how different things are there. I hope the US ends up closer to NZ than it is right now, that's for sure.

I cannot stress enough how common it is to see police vehicles and armed police in most parts of the states. Even military vehicles are fairly common in lots of places. People can open carry AR-15s in like 10 states. No one here is going to be intimated by police presence.

Seriously, go to therapy. Your feelings are valid but your insistence that everyone else on Bluesky must validate them or they're the delusional ones is genuinely sad.

Because I can guarantee you it's going to take a lot more to stop voting than a cop car circling the block.

Do you live in NZ?

Dismantling the car dealership cartels really needs more attention from Dems and the left more generally. They're almost always corrupt and deeply involved in financing conservative politics at the local level.

I get it and agree that we're on the same side here. My 2 cents is that we have to find balance between respecting the real damage being done while also understanding the very real limits of their strategy.

I literally work in international development, save the snark. The fact is they are ideologues that are enacting massive changes that are now directly negatively impacting their own policy preferences. Wrecking is easy doing more than that is hard. Being prepared is fine, but they're not invincible

They really aren't. Most recently, the gutting of FEMA had to be stopped and reversed at least to some degree because of the winter storm. It's actually pretty easy to fire people and "close" departments, but behind the scenes nothing is working and it's impacting their own policy goals.

Frankly, there are a lot of people on social media who genuinely don't understand how anything works. Past that, some are clout chasing, some are bots, and some desperately need companionship or therapy. Is it possible Trump declares martial law? Sure. Acting like Hudson in Aliens isn't helpful.

It's difficult, even for them, to try to pivot to "a white guy can be murdered by the state for simply legally possessing a firearm." I think most people have understood for a long time they only ever intended 2a to apply to them, but seeing it in slo mo is messing up the bros.
