I tell kids all the time not to join the military, but for a lot of reasons, none of which that they're evil. I do think that there's too much politicization in the ranks, and the firing of so many senior officers does not bode well.

What annoys me about this is that the people who whine about vets in left spaces are bad at coalition building, and overall don't seem very serious about long term growth of their little pet projects, however marginally effective those may be.

I've been following this since Jason cammisa pissed me off with his video when it came out. Like literally checking quarterly reports both about reports and sales. The credulity of the metallurigical claims is probably the thing that pisses me off the most.

I think this will be the one upshot of generative imagery and video. I already discard slop, even moreso after hbomberguy 2023, but practical effects or unfalsifiable human production is going to have more value going forward.
