As some people have asked, the woman pictured here is actress Charlotte Rae, who played Mrs Bardell in the US production of Pickwick. She would later go on to play Edna the housekeeper in Diff'rent Strokes

RIP John Woodvine. He, Jenny Agutter & Brian Glover reprised their movie roles in our BBC Radio ‘An American Werewolf In London’. In rehearsal I took him through an extra scene I had written (with John Landis’s permission). “Don’t worry Dirk”, said John W, “I’ll do my best to improve your writing…”
