I grew up at a time and place where the only milk available was raw milk, and my mom had strict rules about it: if you forgot to boil it within ~an hour you had to dump it.
I don't know your parents, but I'm gonna guess this is the angle you're going for?

If you look at the most COVID deaths by country in Europe, it's basically a list of Eastern Bloc countries. (Of course the same for lowest vaccine uptake). I think there's a historical distrust of government there, and a rise of far right / populist ideas.

I almost never posted on Twitter, and only used the Following tab, but the replies that were promoted to the top were enough for me to leave.
I don't see that level of toxicity here.

"As of 2025, the Ineos Grenadier Quartermaster is the only imported truck sold in the US that is subject to the Chicken Tax".
This is why it's beyond stupid. They should just get rid of it.

Among other things, it's funny he/she seems completely unaware of the upscaling of Walmart that's been going on for years now. I wonder when was the last time this person has been to a Walmart actually.

Let's not forget the perma-hell of NYC, where the foreign born population never dropped below 15% ever!

Yep, that's why 8.8.08 was the opening date for the Beijing Olympics.

It does save you money after about 10 years if you drink 3 a day.

I think you are right for a good chunk of them, but the median European attitude in my head is "oh blacks so cool because American music and the NBA. Eww how can Americans be so racist" and utter something incredibly racist against a minority group in their own country in the same breath.

There's a fundamental disconnect between the way they see the US and their own country. The US is multi-cultural by definition, but their country is not. So eww Americans are so racist to their own people (Blacks), but a third generation Turk is never German, or a Moroccan can never be French.

I don't think this is true.
1. France has the highest birthrate *in Europe* but it's not high by any means. Roughly equal to US's and dropping.
2. Just across the border you have Spain, the lowest birthrate in Europe and I don't think Spanish parents are a lot more hands on.

About two thirds of all hazelnuts in the world are produced in a small region (eastern Black Sea) of Turkey.

No dude. Natural language generation was considered one of the hardest problems in AI until the Transformer came along.

It keeps going: "Some families store ultra-processed foods in their home, such as boxes of crackers, granola bars, pretzels and cookies."

I'm gonna lose my mind.
Just say "don't snack too much". This article feels very disorienting and passive aggressive.

Yeah. Israel's GDP is higher, with 1/10 of the population. It was less than half of Iran's in 2012.

This reminded me of the Sun Language Theory, one of the wackier ideas of Kemalism in Turkey, fortunately abandoned before causing too much embarrassment.
