They build that habit and by college, it's SOP. Learning without thought. Reading without enjoyment or analysis. All of it becomes education without educating.

As a professor, this is true. We put HS students on such a rat race in getting into good colleges, they (and their parents)become so hyper-focused on grades & AP courses (whose instructors think they are the most important person in the world) that they dive headfirst into AI without learning
