Transnistria is not wrecked as comprehensively as parts of Ukraine. "Wrecked" as in - lots of rubble. It is wrecked politically.

Yes, but ... David Allen Green writes his posts in single sentences with a carriage return after each one, and it makes it easy to follow his argument. But I agree, for a speech it needs to graduate to paragraphs.

Harry Chester was the name he sailed under: I am sure he had a German-Jewish name that he quietly changed as he stepped off the Kindertransport. He was a great man and an excellent double-bass player.
