“And The Ass Saw The Angel” (Nick Cave) is wild, too, from a wild narrator.

Lastly, “Jesus’ Son”. (Denis Johnson) kind of reminds me of the warm but tragic adventures in “The Little Prince”.

I love “The Little Prince”. Although I finished it, I haven’t really because I continue reading it out loud to my 9yo.

I came to recommend “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest”. (Man vs. machine, authority, woman all observed by a mute Native American.)

Store-bought cherry tomatoes, olive oil, salt and a little sprinkle of brown sugar baked at 225 degrees for 2.5-3 hours are ridiculously good. I make them every 1-2 weeks, spread them on sandwiches, spoon them on eggs, or as a side by themselves.

Would love to see you pull stills from “The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari” to linocut.

The “bucket design” models are easy to clean. The shelf models are a pain.
I resisted getting an air fryer but love having one now. It’s nice to cook fries/nuggets for my kid without heating up an entire oven. For myself and mom, I use it for London broil, chicken thighs, pork chops, baked potatoes

I was in high school during Desert Storm when the yellow ribbon “I support the troops” campaign rolled out. It was an obviously weak bs campaign back then and still is even today.

I too, like many Americans, but America? Not so much.

Shared this twice already this week. Pretty simple but real tasty. The celery garnish adds an earthy brightness to the bowl. www.mushroomcouncil.com/recipes/rust...

Am trying to find a mushroom potato soup recipe that I really enjoyed. It used fresh celery leaves as a garnish which brightened the whole bowl up. Normally mushrooms are a give or take with me. *replying in case I lose your post.

The burnishing bone is such a fun tool.

Fuckaroo sounds so very down-under Paul Hogan-ish safe.

My 9 yo is getting her first vinyl for Xmas. (I can’t wait!) And a metal stamping set to make custom military-like dog tags for her friends. Gotta influence while I can still be an influence.

I’ll second the pinch of salt. It goes in every pot I make.

I just listened to this in the past week. It shares real-life personal advantages/disadvantages from both sides. Lots of “wow” moments.

Just listened to a fantastic RadioLab podcast about this, which is called Aphantasia. They spoke to an author who also can not visualize things.

Oh, man! I’ve thrown roasted sweet potato into a salad with feta, but never considered not including the salad. I will, now, though.

One even lazier option is roasted sweet potato sprinkled with cayenne or smoked paprika.

Hope you find a forgotten snack-size chocolate or twenty dollars in a coat pocket, today.

I’m near the airport. Just off Buffalo Run.

Going to try my hand at Hasselback Potatoes, tomorrow. A whole tray of modest sized spuds in the oven that I’ll finish in the air fryer through the week. Those tuber’s days are numbered.

Hate the AI/arts crowd. Love the John Henry reference. *Have found that every Johnny Cash song where he introduces himself, kicks ass.

Haven’t seen it in 30 years, but I search for it every six months or so.

I like beating a couple eggs, then using an immersion blender to temper them into the soup for a non-dairy richness.

Googled hassleback potatoes, and guess who’s making hassleback potatoes when my kid gets back from holiday. Would ship you stuffing, but it has to hold me over until I get to make hassleback potatoes.
