Yeah, I’m constantly tortured by the thought of having two good QBs. The fact that one of them cost us like $20 is an endless source of agony too.

Does it bother you that the player you picked to be the crown jewel of your franchise is getting ground into dust because you forgot to protect him?

Hang the banner next to the one for your last winning season (7 years ago), plus all the trophies for crushing every offseason

It’s as subtle as a piano falling from a fifth story window

We’re looking at a mini-rebuild and need a shift in coaching / play-calling duties if it’s not going o all be for naught when it counts. Go Pack.

When, coach? We’ve also seen what Musgrave can do in the pass game, so what are doing here.
January 14, 2025 at 7:31 PM
Not sure how you can say that when we won zero big games this season. Decent team, no signature wins.

It’s not rocket science, but neither are most of our pervasive self-inflicted social disorders

Poisoning men against domestic life is a real crime and it’s also scandalously incoherent.

I’d love to find an effective way to promote the fact that manhood and attention to the home are not zero sum, and to embrace the whole spectrum of domestic skills from cleaning to carpentry to parenting.

Plus it’s inevitable.

Novels are written about what we’re seeing in these five seconds

Assuming you include petty crimes in this idea of arresting people, this is largely consistent with the Giuliani approach in the 90s.

Everything is signaling now and we could it all tone it down, but I wouldn't necessarily start with virtue

Yeah, outreach and resources to the homeless may pay 10x in human and economic dividends, and it's fair for NYC to offer its least fortunate citizens a hand. But in terms of scale, they only chip away at the sheer number of homeless.

"Build more housing" - agree in principle but it's just words
January 9, 2025 at 9:48 PM
Ah, it was politics all along? Shocked.
January 9, 2025 at 9:43 PM
The actual question was "does any attempt to not have the homeless clogging public facilities involve forcibly moving them at scale?"

And the answer is yes.
January 9, 2025 at 9:37 PM
Not advocating for 10,000 bed warehouses upstate. But boutique solutions can't solve large-scale problems.

We went through this in the '70s, replacing institutions with community-based solutions (which were largely a panacea).

Most immediately though, clean safe subway stations means mass arrests

"There's nowhere else they can be, but also they can simply go somewhere else when reminded to"
January 9, 2025 at 9:30 PM
It's just that "we should reopen mental hospitals and fill them with the homeless"

would be a little more forthright.

and it is possible that we agree on this.
January 9, 2025 at 9:28 PM
Now you're just pouting. Suck and fuck, very nice.

Anything to avoid admitting geopolitics and war are a little more complex than pat moral judgments and bright-line definitions we craft entirely around our own comfort.
