I agree, but a coin has two sides: “But the shutdown was a skirmish, not the real battle. Both sides were fighting for position, and Democrats, if you look at the polls, are ending up in a better one than they were when they started.” Ezra Klein’s take. Let’s keep focused on fighting & winning!
Tonight’s Senate vote on the federal government shutdown should have been a time for strength.
Instead we saw capitulation and a betrayal of working Americans.
The American people need more from their leaders.

Democrats need to stop thinking like an electoral opposition party and start thinking like insurgents trying to engineer the overthrow of a dictator. But elected Dems seem temperamentally unable to do this.

I’m not going to say that I wasn’t disappointed by the Senate Dems who “got cold feet” and passed a new CR. This is a long game and there will be times when the losers are Dems with no spine for a fight, and MAGA Republicans who have kissed the Don’s ring. We must be VIGILANT; we must be STRONG!

The purposeful use of excessive force by ICE Agents is the violence that must be punished. We must laud the courage, fearlessness and unflagging resistance of those under attack for non-violent, peaceful protest!
It’s clear who the aggressors are. Keep remaining nonviolent, and record EVERYTHING. All of these masked ICE thugs will be held accountable.

Think globally… yet act in true solidarity… locally. If we fail to restore democracy at its roots, our communities, we will never again taste the fruits of freedom, justice & equality. As Abby says, that’s what we MUST do to stop tRump and his minions… sycophants who destroy our democracy!
What can we do to stop him? 1st don’t worry about 2026/28 elections, yet. Focus on the Nov 2025 elections where there will be 52k races nationwide & turn out is key. 2nd, vote for pro democracy candidates that will shape the 2026/28 elections! Key elections are in CA, ME, NJ, PA & VA! #Elections2025

Just watched All the Presidents Men this evening. So happy to have Bluesky, Substack and so many excellent alternative media platforms doing TODAY what the Washington Post (mainstream media) did then. What a strange new world!
