Homemade Cheez-Itz
Cheez-Its. 8 oz shredded cheddar 1 cup flour 1 tsp salt 1/4 cup butter cubed, cold 2 tbsp ice water In food processor pulse cheddar, flour, salt for 15 seconds. Add butter and pulse till coarse about 10 seconds. Add water and pulse until combined. Transfer to bowl and knead until dough is smooth. Separate dough and wrap each in cling wrap. Refrigerate for 30 min to to an hour. On lightly floured surface roll out to 9x11 or roughly 1/16 inch thick. Cut into squares (I used a pizza cutter). Use chopstick or skewer to punch hole in center of each swuare. Transfer to parchment lined baking sheet close together but not touching. Bake at 375 for 15 minutes, rotating half way through. Allow to cool completely. Store in airtight container for up to 1 week.
