The new Pedrena Apartments that opened in Las Cruces this week will provide 80 seniors with a safe, modern place to call home. New Mexico lost a treasure yesterday. Florence Jaramillo, the heart of Rancho de Chimayó, passed away at 94.

Her love and legacy will live on in her family, her restaurant, and in all who had the joy of knowing her. May her memory be a blessing.

Child care can cost families up to $1,100 a month—but not in New Mexico. Starting Nov. 1, universal child care means parents can work, kids get the best start, and families keep more money in their pockets.
