This seems to gel with @drmichaellevin.bsky.social proposal that local fields are also what regulates the expression of genetic information. Any thoughts about the relationship of these two aspects?

But I think a key point is: how would you *know*, as an observer, whether something would burn? If the simulation included delivering to your sensory apparatus the right kind of virtual signals (heat, optic flow of moving flames, etc.), I am afraid you couldn't but *infer* that things indeed burned
