Eventually I’ll be well enough established to switch agencies. We work with a different agency for a different website that I’m supposed to take over in the fall. If I’m happy with them it should hopefully be simple enough to rope them in for the keyword researches for the other website

Not to mention of course - I want the keywords. And if the people who should be doing that research for me aren’t doing it, I guess I just gotta fuckin do it myself

I literally feel like I have to defensively preventatively do my own damn keyword researches just so I have hard numbers to say nah man we’re not investing time and money into that topic, it’s absolutely not worth it. Please do this one instead

It’s already happened that I gave a piece of feedback and he kinda low-key went above my head to try and get the go-ahead to do what he wanted regardless of what I thought. Nothing came of that, but still

I’m new enough here, and the agency guy is well enough connected (used to work with my boss’s boss) that I feel like I have to be careful about how I contradict him

But like - her approach is not SEO focused. That’s not her job. Why is she the one supposedly making a bunch of new suggestions for texts that are meant to help the SEO Strategy?

I’ve spoken with the woman who writes these texts. She is nice enough, and she writes well enough. She clearly has some degree of SEO knowledge considering she doesn’t get any proper briefs on what to write but does ok anyways

b) we decided to include certain topics in an existing text, not to create completely new pages for those topics
c) WHY ARE YOU SUGGESTING NEW TOPICS WITHOUT KEYWORDS

What I didn’t expect was for said guy to just ignore what we decided on and have his writer suggest new topics (based on some undefined “tools” that she apparently used)

Like obviously there will always be other factors. I expected to have to remain within corporate language/general marketing voice constraints. I expected priorities coming from above to be a factor
