Very sorry to hear about the passing of Peter Temin. His 2007 paper - Instututions and Inequality in 20th Century America - with Frank Levy had a massive influence on me. Easy to forget how contentious these ideas were at the time

R.I.P. Peter Temin - besides his well known work in economic history he has also contributed to pharmaceutical market design “Nationally, if we keep the current structure, in 50 years only hedge fund managers will be able to afford prescription drugs.”

I was fortunate to know and write with Peter Temin, an eminent economic historian who taught at MIT for several decades. I taught his work in both European and American economic history, and was fortunate to work with him on his most recent projects on inequality. May his memory be a blessing.

My last living musical hero is still my hero but unfortunately no longer living. RIP to the great, great Mr. Tom Lehrer.
