So sorry, Sherry. You’re right, you can’t get more normal than sexually violating other species of mammals, eh? 🤪

Agreed. The two are intrinsically interlinked; To believe that our merciless attitude towards and treatment of fellow sentient animal individuals, will not devalue and diminish our regard for fellow humans, engender violence towards them and give rise to violent societies, is the height of naivety.

. . . much social energy put into undermining & overriding our sympathies for them? Why else would we want to silence & deride those who fight to end our vile treatment of them?

As Brian Luke pointed out, empathy for fellow animals is a primary disposition that is only dulled by a process intense social conditioning. Why else would we need to hide the truth of our violent abuse of them from ourselves? Why else would we have elaborate guilt expiation rituals & so much . . .

Lucky for me at the age of 18,
I decided I wanted to live a nonviolent life, and I realized the violence was on my plate!
I never ate another animal!
56 years now! 🌱🕊️

Absolutely. I’ve always considered myself kind to animals, but having been insulated and conditioned by corporate America until I was in my 20’s, I didn’t give much thought to how my meals got to my plate. I regret that ignorance, but I don’t think it made me a bad person; just uninformed. (1 of 2)

I think we can safely say that anyone who believes needless violence is morally acceptable is a sick individual and their moral code is just a self-serving, ethically devoid ideology.
