Half sask half toba here too. Good point on Xmas dinner, Tgiving dinner. But always a birthday supper and often Easter supper too.

Always been a “lunch” and “supper” person myself. Never knew whether “dinner” meant noon or evening. (Although I often observe that evening “dinner” people eat earlier at like 5-6, whereas “supper” people eat definitely after 6.)
