The word "of" appears to be slowly disappearing. "Because X" has been followed by "of" vanishing from many phrases, e.g., "Jump out the box."

The Grammar Curmudgeon considers this sloppy and lazy. Am I being too rigid, however? Is this a natural progression to more efficient language?

I received a work email the other day that was riddled with grammar and spelling errors. The sender has a college degree. Competent writing and proofreading used to be assumed skills. How am I in a world where I am thrilled to see someone knows the difference between your and you're?
