Viewing gender as something measurable externally, via your social position, does a disservice to the gender variety of the trans community.

I have an issue with defining gender as having anything to do with one's social position. Not having the same amount of social power as cis men and being placed even below cis women on the social hierarchy does not mean not having a gender identity that's identical to a cis man's.

I have read your article more attentively now, and I have some additional comments, starting with this part :

Their preferred way of defining gender is "material position under patriarchy", which is part of why they believe some trans people are identical to cis people, and nonbinary genders all loop back into binaryness.

They use a word "cissexual" to lump medically non transitioning trans people together with cis people, and also may use people's pronouns in a mocking manner (e.g. "a she/they", "theyfab").

Many of them also are deeply suspicious of and prejudiced towards nonbinary genders and refuse to engage with them as something other than a metaphor for manhood and womanhood.

They do not necessarily believe in male vs female brain, they tend to be left-leaning and take a critical position on the society and cisgenderism.

However, they share the belief in gender as a materially measurable parameter and view medical transition as the quintessential trans experience.
