Perhaps the quest to leave our comfort zone isn't an impulse we should always indulge. An action that in the beginning may seem horrific, can over time become the next logical step.

A teacher wrote a piece saying moral relativism took away the shock valve of the story. His class said the people did what they needed to survive. The lottery was like appeasing the volcano gods. But without a volcano sacrificing to the gods is cruel with no purpose

Growing up I was told, "if it's worth doing, it's worth doing right," and, "always do your best work." It left me paralyzed so often. When I finally left the place I grew up I was able to thrive, creatively and academically.
"Just make it exist first, you can make it good later" - it's a good mindset for an artist to have
