Not at all, and bravo for making everything about your preferred perspective.
16 PEOPLE died. One man intervened to prevent more bloodshed. I prefer to focus on that positive act than to share the "success" of bigoted assholes.
Refusing to publicize deaths does not make me callous, but caring.

Bond, to me, is about holding on to the absurdist delight in gadgets that save the day against comic book villains who were larger than life.

I don't expect logic. I expect an absolute disregard for the possible!

Um, wut?

People died. At a hannukah celebration. And a Muslim man risked his own life, having already been shot, to take down one of the shooters.

I'm celebrating the hero, not the religious bigotry that others might wish to amplify.

Maybe that's the message that should be shared?

A dude with a very Muslim name stopped a shooter. So we need to shut down the "Moslem bad" rhetoric if that's showing up.

I've never actually attended one - never been one accessible to wherever I've lived (or worked or traveled).

I think i'd enjoy it. I love to read and I love to hear creators of any kind. Might be a bit of a bubble, though

Then my hidden is worthy of a PhD thesis or two! 🤣

Thank you so much!

Doncha mean po' try?

In my to do list! Thanks!

I've been looking for places to submit short stories... And failing (but I haven't been looking very hard)

I have a few right now that I'd love to submit
And I'd be encouraged to write more!

Good craft and exploring characters outside of.my series

White, right-wing, trump-loyalist vets.

Supposed to be fiction.

It was a societal critique at the time (exploitation of the populace through propaganda being a theme)
Sadly prophetic.

My debut was supposed to be simple. It wasn't.
Shy everyman auditor finds his confidence foiling a criminal cartel through the audit by partnering with an alien intelligence agent.

But... His colleagues decided they had a story, too, and soon it was a lot more complicated & better for it!
Yay!

Does the NYT crossword share its realm with anything else?

Prolly not 😂
December 11, 2025 at 4:38 PM
Don't pick one - so boring! so conventional! So last week!

Pick them ALL! A sprawling epic that follows ALL THE THREADS for ALL THE PEOPLE for now and FOREVER MORE!

That's how the potboiler money makers work, right?
😂🤣
December 11, 2025 at 4:36 PM
In some ways it's easier (you know the characters and their history) but also harder for the same reason (they will shape the story in ways you maybe don't want).

But much faster to write!

Have fun

My wife and I were watching q YouTube on Queretaro, MX. (We're moving there). And saw a Tim Hortons!

First thing we both said was "Nanaimo bars" - a very delicious memory of the time we lived in Canada!.
December 11, 2025 at 12:49 PM
so we're pirates, as well as murderers?

not my idea of "the American Dream" but, then again, I'm not a brain-dead cultist.
December 11, 2025 at 4:31 AM
dat's an orchestra, not an ensemble! (truly impressed - I'm struggling with THREE Protagonists, one protag-adjacent, + eight protag-lite, & four antagonists - but TWO are mostly bit parts)

Writing it out that's more than I thought! No wonder I get confused! (my wife says that's my natural state!)

IMHO the only unserious folks are the smooth-brained imbiciles who propose such policies. Barely capable of first-order thinking. I wouldn't be surprised if they were all addicted to paste (school glue for the younger/uninitiated)
December 11, 2025 at 4:23 AM
I wouldn't be the person I am today without art, music, books, philosophy, history, and sociology.

All terribly unserious, I'm sure, but they made me a much more effective consultant (my current advisory clients believe this, too. I know this, because they've told me so)

once?
December 11, 2025 at 4:17 AM
There are almost certainly more heavy scenes in acts two and three, but overall, this is where I wanted to tighten the pacing. Nothing worse than a thriller that stalls early! (but still retaining romance, emotion, worldbuilding, personalities, character growth, and all the rest)

so much FUN!
