I watched the first one in theaters, back in 2009 when PS5 cutscene graphics were impressive. It was a serviceable retread of Dances With Wolves in space, but not something I'd recommend these days. (The movie I do recommend lately is Sing Sing, but it's more of an Art movie.)

Yeah, definitely. I can think of one tech job I've seen in my sector that was unionized; so I think game dev is actually leading the charge on unions (which fits since they're generally treated the worst.)

It's enough of a pattern that my dog gets excited if I put on real pants/shorts because he knows that means I'm leaving the house and he usually gets a car ride out of that.

I can't sleep if I'm wearing a shirt, so I put on a comfortable shirt when I get up and I make sure it's SFW if it's a work day but stay in pajama pants. In the winter, I'll even leave the house in my pajama pants because I'm wearing a mid-calf length wool coat and people won't notice the pajamas.

This is part of why I play indie roguelike type games a lot more lately. Mechanics I like, and maybe some story as a treat but it's mostly just about fun gameplay with replay value.

The CTO at my now-former employer was talking about Daylight Savings in some open discussion meeting and I posted "as a QA engineer, I suggest we just abolish timezones, do everything in UTC" in the chat which amused him enough that he joked about it in his email recap.

It's so lucky they were able to find a good voice match for Mako to finish out season 2 and replace him in season 3.

Ironically, I had to jump through some hoops to get Discord to have different settings between the clients - I wanted to mute notifications on one computer but not the other, and I had to set one of them on Streamer Mode to accomplish that because that setting isn't synced.

I saw someone posting about building a Smart Gadget integration where when they brush their teeth in the morning, that triggers the lights in the rest of the house turning on and sending a signal to turn on their computer. I can't imagine why you would need to know your dishwasher's status though.

My point is that "sucks to suck, red states" mocks the suffering of a whole ton of innocent victims of disenfranchisement and misinformation.

My dad was one of the original Glassholes and wore them to work until HR told him "one of your coworkers is uncomfortable with you wearing a camera into the bathroom." I think he brought spare glasses to wear into the bathroom for a bit but eventually gave up on Glass.
